Summary: For those of you who think this release is unnecessary well, think again! Unlike the fiasco that was `The Lord of the ring' trilogy -little extras no extended cuts of the films- Blu Ray release, this is worth buying.

Besides the beautiful new shiny transfer including a colour corrected de-grained and Cameron-approved `Aliens' that looks better than ever, the dodgy soundtrack for Alien 3 has been sorted out with Dance and Henriksen recording new dialogue.

The unflinching `Alien 3' documentary is presented in this uncut version (including footage of an on-set Fincher outburst).

There are hours of new and extended interviews and Mark Kermode's `Alien evolution' doc is also presented in its uncut complete version.

Best of all though, is the MU-TH-UR mode, which enables you to tag topics while you are watching the film, then takes you to the appropriate moment on any of the features across all six discs when you are finished. Much better than intrusive picture in picture tracks.

This release also features isolated scores tracks of all the films (as well as alternate score tracks for the first two), and much much more.

So if this is not enough to convince you that this is the perfect opportunity to revisit those amazing films, then you may have lost your interests in films.

Christmas is coming and this set will be a great gift idea. And what about an `Alien' marathon on your large screen HD TV during a cold Rainy Saturday or Sunday afternoon this winter?

And finally for those who can't afford the steep price tag for now, why not wait? I bought my `Alien' quadrilogy set when it was released for £50+'. The price dropped as low as £10.00 over the years so why rush? I bet you this set will cost half the price in six month time.
